11 December 2019

"Interbank processing center" CJSC (operator of the national payment system "Elkart") summed up the results of 2019 and recognized "Keremet Bank" OJSC as "The Best Bank for development of acquiring network in the regions.

Keremet Bank delivered 100 ATMs to the country in less than a month, which will be installed in all regions in next quarter: 19 – in Batken region, 17 – in Jalal-Abad and Osh regions, 13 - in Issyk-Kul and Chui regions, 12 – in Naryn region, 9 – in Talas region. Thanks to the coordinated actions of employees to this date are installed already 17 of the imported ATMs: Issyk-Kul region is covered and Jalal – Abad region by a quarter.

"This is a well-deserved reward. Not every Kyrgyz Bank is capable of such a step for a number of reasons, the main of which is the high cost of banking devices and software, the high cost of maintaining ATMs and the complexity of collection in remote areas of the country, as well as the low development of infrastructure in the regions" said Deputy Chairman of the Board Narynbek Alybaev. "Despite these difficulties, Keremet Bank, as one of the standard-bearers in terms of the number of banking equipment in the country, will continue to make its contribution to the creation of equal access for all Kyrgyz people to modern banking services."

The presence of a developed banking terminal infrastructure for servicing plastic cards is one of the main factors for the effective development of the banking system in the regions.  Realities nowadays are that unlike the urban population a significant proportion of rural residents from remote and mountainous areas do not have access to basic banking services. In this regard, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic declared 2019 "The Year of regional development and digitalization of the country."

After the completion of this project 250 ATMs across the country will operate in the network of Keremet Bank. One of their advantages is the flexible configuration of the system, which allows the Bank to transfer to the ATM network the ability to pay for services in a non-cash way through the card. The Bank is also actively working to increase the share of non-cash payments in Kyrgyzstan: hundreds of POS-terminals are installed in trade and service enterprises and the network of payment terminals is expanding (so, today 175 devices allow the Bank's customers to pay for the services of more than 200 suppliers).
