Keremet Bank appeals to cardholders of all banks of Kyrgyzstan to be more vigilant
Fraudsters in the Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic have become more active, trying to fraudulently withdraw money from payment cards of both international payment systems and Elkart national payment system.
The attackers created a stable scheme of stealing money from those who sell goods on the Internet through online sales sites and requires services of courier services. With an intent to defraud, false buyers offer sellers to immediately pay for their goods by transfer to the card and send a link to a popular courier service site in the region with a request to fill in information about their card account. At the same time, the link leads to a fake website-duplicate of the courier service with a similar design, interface and domain name – if you do not pay attention to these details, you may not notice the substitution. As a result, fraudsters, gaining access to the data of the seller's card, subsequently withdraw money from it.
Banks, advertising sites, e-commerce sites, and courier services work together to prevent such types of fraud by interacting with law enforcement agencies. Cardholders also need to be vigilant: do not click on links sent by email, through messages in messengers, in chats and in social networks from strangers, and do not transfer their personal card data to anyone (card number, expiration date, CVV2).
If you receive a suspicious payment offer, check on the information with the official representatives of the courier service through which you are offered to make the payment, or with the bank that issued your card.
