GMW-2021: “Keremet Bank” invites you to a unique numismatic exhibition

23 March 2021

A large-scale educational movement - Global Money Week (GMW), aimed at increasing the financial literacy of young people was launched in 175 countries of the world. “Global Money Week” in Kyrgyzstan is held under the patronage of the National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic.

A numismatic exhibition has become the first event which has opened GMW in “Keremet Bank” in accordance with the good tradition. The presented exposition – “Coins for the Protection of the World Fauna” – consists of more than 150 coins of the 15 countries of the world with the various images of the world fauna representatives.

If in ancient times the main characters on coins were deified creatures and their attributes, in the Middle Ages – animals hunted by people, then today they are animals listed in the Red Book.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) report compiled the data over the last 50 years, that due to human activities, the populations of animals have declined by two-thirds. One of the burning concerns that worries nowadays the world society is the preservation of the environment.

The contemporary Art of Medal is not only a thoughtful design and excellent execution but also an educational component that draws attention to world problems. Almost all countries of the world devote their collection and circulation coins to the protection of the environment. There are also collectible zoomorphic coins in the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan arsenal that worthily adorn the numismatic exhibition – “Coins for the Protection of the World Fauna” at the “Keremet Bank” OJSC.

Together with the Deputy Director of the “Keremet Bank - Bishkek” branch Makhabat Ematova and well-known in Kyrgyzstan expert in numismatics Aleksandr Kamyshev, the exhibition of coins has been solemnly opened by the Lecturer of the Department of Banking and Insurance of the Kyrgyz Economic University named after M.Ryskulbekov, Tabyshova Adiliia Koichukeevna: “Financial literacy has a great value for future specialists. Practical and theoretical knowledge gained in the course of such events will be useful to students in both professional and personal life”.

The bank is sincerely grateful for help in organizing the exhibition to Aleksandr Kamyshev, the Candidate of the Historical Sciences, a professional numismatist and archeologist who provided the collection of coins.

“Mourning the inhabitants of the wild nature, it is probably correct that now they are issuing coins with images of animals, - Aleksandr Mikhailovich says without irony, – future generations will be able to admire at least the beautiful birds, animals, and fish, that once inhabited the Planet Earth”.

We invite all connoisseurs and experts of numismatics to the unique exhibition which will be openly available until March 26, 2021, at the branch “Keremet Bank - Bishkek” by address 40/4, Togolok Moldo St., from 8:30 to 17:00.
