Card usage rules

USE YOUR BANK CARDS CAREFULLY!

We recommend treating your bank card as well as how you treat your property and cash. If you follow the security measures, as well as the Rules for obtaining and using bank payment cards of Keremet Bank OJSC, you will help to minimize the risk of fraud on the card.

BASIC SAFETY MEASURES

  • Do not forget to read carefully the Rules for obtaining and using bank payment cards. If any of the items are incomprehensible to you, contact the Bank's employee and ask all your questions.
  • When receiving a card, be sure to sign it in the signature panel on the back of the card.
  • Never write down PIN on the card! The PIN-code must be remembered and PIN envelope must be destroyed. If you still decide to write down a PIN-code, we recommend to do this in an encrypted form. Never wear a PIN with the card!
  • You must not tell anyone your PIN- code - neither to the Bank's employees, nor to law enforcement officials, nor to cashiers of outlets. Only the cardholder must know his PIN-code!
  • Never give your card to third parties, including members of your family, especially if they are traveling abroad. If the ATM for any reason removes the card from the trustee, you may have problems with the return of the card.
  • If you issued an additional card for your family members, then remember that you are fully responsible for all operations performed on these cards.
  • In case of loss or stolen card, immediately contact the Bank to block the card. When the card is blocked, you need to name the code word that you specified in the Application. Please do not confuse the code word with the PIN-code!
  • If you use the card when you visit one of the following countries with a high level of fraud, we recommend re-issuing a card with a new number and a new PIN-code upon return. Countries are Brazil, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Ukraine, Malaysia, Portugal, Mexico, Spain, Nigeria, Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom.
  • Regularly check the statements on your card, at least once a month. The bank can issue claims on your transactions within the time limits established by payment systems, therefore, the earlier you find doubtful transactions on your card, the more likely it is to challenge transaction data.
  • We recommend connecting the SMS notification service. In the event that someone uses your card, you will receive a notification of the transaction and will be able to block the card in a timely manner.
  • When issuing a card, the Bank automatically establish the limits on transactions, depending on the type of card. In the event that you plan to spend larger sums, we recommend that you increase the limits, but do not delete the limits completely. Transaction limits are an additional means of securing your money.
  • If you suspect that someone has found out the details of your card, we recommend that you immediately apply to the Bank for a new card.
  • Never send your card details (full card number, expiration date, PIN code, CVV - last three digits on the back of the card on the signature field) by e-mail. Your card can be used to make purchases on the Internet, or create a duplicate and cash out cash at ATMs.

Security measures during ATM operations

  • Before using the card in an ATM, make sure that the ATM serves the card of the payment system you need. ATMs should have stickers with such information.
  • Be sure to study the Bank's tariffs in detail! For cashing in ATMs of other banks, a higher commission is charged.
  • If you find any other devices near to the ATM or in it, inform the Bank about it and use another ATM.
  • If possible, try to use ATMs where you have already been serviced many times. Choose ATMs in well-lit and convenient locations.
  • Make sure that the people behind you in the queue to the ATM do not have the opportunity to see your PIN-code.
  • Do not get distracted by getting money! The waiting time of the ATM is 15 seconds, after which the ATM will take the money back. Immediately after the completion of the operation, take the money, card and check.
  • Never use the services of strangers who offer you assistance at the ATM. Do not let anyone distract you while using an ATM!

Security measures when shopping at retail outlets

  • All transactions with the card must be made in your presence. Do not allow the card to be taken to another room.
  • Before putting the sign on the check, make sure that all the data is correct. If you find inaccuracies in the check, do not sign it and ask them to cancel the transaction. Ask for a check to cancel the operation. If you refused to purchase, or if errors were made while printing a check, ask to destroy a spoiled check in your presence. Take the second copy with you and store it for a month, check the details with your statement on the card account.
  • Make a payment card only in those trading enterprises that cause trust. Be careful when paying with a card in the following trade and service companies: entertainment centers, jewelry salons, travel agencies, payment for Internet services.

Security measures when conducting transactions on the Internet

  • The possibility of paying with your card on the Internet is activated by a separate application at the Bank. In case you do not plan to use the card on the Internet, we do not advise you to activate this service. If possible, do not use your card on the Internet.
  • Entering a PIN-code when paying online is not required! PIN-code is used only when carrying out operations on terminals and only with the help of a special device - PIN pad - keyboard.
  • Never tell anyone the full card number, expiration date, or CVV (the last three digits on the back of the card in the signature field).
  • In case you use online stores where the data on your card is tied to the profile created and when you do not need to re-enter the data, be sure to leave your profile after making the payment and do not tell anyone your ID and password.
  • The Bank is not liable for transactions committed on fraudulent sites. The level of fraud in the Internet is inexorably growing. Therefore, we advise you to follow all safety precautions when using the card on the Internet.
